Honors is pleased to acknowledge these
award winning students from its program:
Roland Davis
Best College Jazz Soloist (DownBeat magazine)
Award is given on the basis of an anonymous submission of
a 10-minute performance recording. Only four individuals win
this prestigious national award every year from hundreds of
submissions. Roland submitted a medley of music styles played
on the guitar. Roland graduated this summer with Highest Honors
in Music and is attending the New England Conservatory School
to study Music Composition.

2004-2005 John Young Scholarship in the Arts
The John Young Scholarship in the Arts, established by the
John Young Foundation in memory of the late artist, provides
assistance to undergraduates and graduate students pursuing
a degree in an arts_related field. Scholars receive monetary
awards of $6,000 to graduate students and $3,000 to undergraduate
students.
