CURRENT FRESHMEN

Fall
Pre-Registration advising is designed to prepare you for the spring semester registration is required of all freshman.  Failure to attend advising will result in a hold on your registration. You will attend this session just prior to, or during, the spring registration period.

Spring
The Planning for Intellectual Inquiry (PI`I) session for freshmen is designed to prepare you for the upcoming semester’s registration and support your development of an academic plan. You will attend these sessions just prior to the fall registration period. This group session should be followed by an individual follow-up session for maximum effectiveness.

2009 Advising

Pi`i:  vi. To go inland or overland (whether or not uphill), to go or walk up, climb, ascend, advance, mount, rise; to grow up, as a child; to fall, as one shadow on another. Pi`i kuahiwi, mountain climber; to climb mountains.

  • Do you know what you need for next semester’s registration?
  • Do you know what you need to earn Sophomore Honors?
  • Do you have a fully developed academic plan towards graduation?

The PI`I session is offered exclusively for second-semester freshmen and is designed to help you answer all of those questions and more.  Whether or not you’ve decided on a major…whether or not you’ve decided to pursue upper division Honors…this session is for YOU!

This REQUIRED session consists of the following:

  • A mandatory small group meeting (approximately 60 minutes in length):
    • Review Honors requirements
    • Determine upcoming semester’s registration
    • Complete Sophomore Honors application paperwork
    • Review application process to upper division Honors
    • Sign up for Honors and A section courses 
  • A recommended individual follow-up meeting (approximately 30 minutes in length) that includes:
    • Development of academic plan
    • Individualized discussion about academic, career, and personal goals
